Ambassador of Belarus to Zimbabwe I.Marshalau meets the Ambassador of Zambia to Zimbabwe D.Livune

On October 9, 2024, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe, I.Marshalau, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the Republic of Zimbabwe, Derick Livune.

During the discussion of the state of bilateral cooperation, the interlocutors noted the low level of interaction between the countries in the political, trade and economic spheres.

I.Marshalov briefly informed about the successful implementation by the Republic of Belarus of the first two phases of the comprehensive Farm Mechanisation facility in Zimbabwe, as a result of which highest wheat harvests have been recorded in the country for several years. He suggested to implement joint projects with Belarus in agriculture, industrial cooperation, healthcare and education in Zambia.

D.Livune noted the urgent needs for mechanization of agriculture, modernization of the healthcare sector in Zambia, and education of Zambian students in Belarus.

The parties also agreed on the need to arrange a series of mutual visits of the leadership of ministries and authorities to intensify the political dialogue between the countries.

On the eve of the visit to Zambia for the purpose of accreditation, the Ambassador of Belarus announced a request to arrange meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental authorities, representatives of the Zambian business community.
