On April 17, the Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe Yury Nikalaichyk and his wife took part in a festive bishop's liturgy performed in Harare by the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan of Cairo and North Africa Konstantin (Ostrovsky) on the occasion of the Holy Resurrection of Christ (Easter).
The service was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Zimbabwe and (non-resident) to the Republic of Malawi N.V. Krasilnikov, diplomats and citizens of Belarus and Russia working in Harare, representatives of the local community of the Russian Orthodox Church.

At the end of the service, the Ambassador presented the bishop with a memorial copy of the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, made in the Polotsk Spaso-Euphrosyne Convent.
The gift was gratefully received. According to bishop Konstantin, a copy of the Cross will accompany him on missionary trips.
During the conversation, the parties discussed possible areas of cooperation and support for the emerging Russian Orthodox community in Harare.
