25.04.2026

On April 23-24, 2026, the Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Trade and Economic Affairs Counselor of the Embassy took part in the opening ceremony and work of the 66th “Zimbabwe International Trade Fair” (ZITF) in Bulawayo.
Participation in ZITF is an important element in the implementation of the tasks of the Head of State to promote Belarusian export opportunities in Zimbabwe and other countries of Southern Africa.

The Belarusian stand, organized under the auspices of Belinterexpo, has traditionally aroused interest among representatives of the Zimbabwean leadership and the business community interested in purchasing domestic products.

The Ambassador-designate held informal talks with the management of a number of institutions of Zimbabwe, discussed topical issues of cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, education and youth policy, coordinated steps for the near future.
The diplomats also visited the fire brigade of Bulawayo and got acquainted with the work of Belarusian-made firefighting equipment.

The Zimbabwean side highly evaluated the equipment, its capacities and cross-country ability. It was emphasized that Belarusian fire engines provide significant resource savings and simplify the elimination of fires.

In addition, within the framework of the exhibition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the State University of Applied Sciences of Manicaland Province.
