The Mid-Term Review holds to verify the implementation of the decisions of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe

On 14-16 April 2025, a Mid-Term Review was held to verify the implementation of the decisions of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe, chaired by the Foreign Ministers of both countries.

The Government delegation of the Republic of Belarus was headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Mr. Viktor Karankevich. The delegation also included deputy ministers of Industry, Agriculture and Food, Health, Education, deputy chairmen of the state-owned corporations BELNEFTEKHIM and BELGOSPISHCHEPROM, heads of a number of exporting enterprises, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, institutions of higher education, and specialized experts (more than 30 people in total).

During the visit, meetings were held with the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, H.E. Dr. E.Mnangagwa, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Honourable M.Ndlovu. A number of meetings were also held between the heads of the relevant ministries of Belarus and Zimbabwe, including through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education.

The second session of the Joint Working Group in the Field of Agriculture took place within the framework of the JPCC Mid-Term Review. Progress in implementing agricultural cooperation initiatives was analysed, and priority areas for further cooperation were identified.

Following the JPCC's work, a Joint Communiqué and Agreed Minutes were signed, providing for the expansion of cooperation in agriculture, industry, education, healthcare, energy, mining, waste processing, medicine and product supplies, and the prevention of natural and man-made disasters.

An agreement was reached to develop a new comprehensive roadmap for strategic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe for 2026-2030, which will include both ongoing and new bilateral projects.

The parties confirmed their mutual political support in the UN and other international organisations.
