Ambassador to Zimbabwe took part in the departure ceremony of a new group of Zimbabwean students to Belarus

The Ambassador of Belarus to Zimbabwe Yury Nikalaichyk took part in events celebrating the departure of a new cohort of Zimbabwean students to study in the Republic of Belarus. This step aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the educational and humanitarian spheres.
On August 22, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe Yury Nikalaichyk, accompanied by his spouse, attended a formal event at the invitation of Maurin Meda, CEO of the Satco Academic Trust Colleges educational association. The diplomats were the guests of honour at a meeting between the association's management, parents, and students heading to Belarusian universities.

In his address to the participants, Yury Nikalaichyk emphasized that training qualified specialists for the Zimbabwean economy at Belarusian higher education institutions represents a vital contribution to the development of long-term relations between the two states. It was noted that the future students underwent a rigorous selection process in Zimbabwe, ensuring their readiness to master demanding curricula in key engineering, economic, and medical fields.
The Ambassador expressed confidence that during their studies, the students would not only acquire high-quality knowledge but also develop a genuine affection for Belarus, becoming a vital link and envoys of friendship between the two nations.
During the event, both parties also reaffirmed their mutual readiness to expand the list of academic specialties available for Zimbabwean citizens in the future.

On August 24, 2026, the Head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission personally visited Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare. The Ambassador delivered a farewell address to the Zimbabwean youth before their departure, wishing them academic success and a smooth adaptation to the Republic of Belarus.
