Scholarship to study in Belarus
Foreign citizens may receive scholarship (grant) to study in Belarus.
Education Level I is represented by general higher education (study period does not exceed 5 years) or special higher education (study period exceeds 5 years in certain specialties) – Bachelor degree.
Education Level II is represented by advanced higher education – Master degree.
Foreign nationals are competitively selected on the basis of quotas allocated each year.
Foreign nationals studying in Belarus on a grant basis are awarded:
- Scholarship;
- Scholarship supplements for academic excellence, scientific and social work as well as financial support (if necessary);
- Accommodation to rent in the educational institution’s dorm for the study period.
The expenditures for travelling to and from the place of study, accommodation, meals, health insurance, visas and registration with the Migration Department are paid at the foreign nationals' own expense or other sources.

A prerequisite for participation in the grant procedure is a documented knowledge of the Belarusian or Russian language.
Foreign nationals planning to apply for an education grant, may take the following courses at the «Republican Institute for Higher Education» (hereafter — RIHE) in Minsk: «Russian as a foreign language», «Belarusian as a foreign language» ( full-time, extramural (distance) forms), as well as pass a Certificate test on the abovementioned course with the issuance of relevant document confirming skills in Russian and/or Belarusian language for its subsequent submission during participation in the selection procedure.
