Bilateral relations Belarus-Zimbabwe
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe were established on 16 April 1992.
Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa H.E. Alexander D. Sidoruk has been accredited to Zimbabwe concurrently since April 2018.
Currently, the political cooperation between Belarus and Zimbabwe is proactive, there is a coincidence of positions on a number of international issues.
President of Zimbabwe H.E. Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa visited Belarus in July 2015 as Vice President and in January 2019 as the Head of State.
30 January — 1 February 2023, President of Belarus H.E. Aleksandr Lukashenko paid a State visit to Zimbabwe. Agreements were signed in the field of industry, trade, agriculture, energy, transport and mining. The handover ceremony of equipment from Belarusian manufacturers was held under the Belarus Farm Mechanization Facility in Zimbabwe.
In March 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr. Frederick Shava paid an official visit to Belarus.
In April 2023, the First Lady of Zimbabwe Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa paid a working visit to Minsk.
Moreover in 2023, heads of a wide range of Zimbabwean Ministries visited Belarus.
The 1st round of the Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Zimbabwe took place in October 2022 in Harare.
The Sides signed an Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation.
Belarus and Zimbabwe support each other on critical issues in International Organizations.
In addition, bilateral economic cooperation between Belarus and Zimbabwe is actively developing. At the end of 2021, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to 25 million US dollars and keeps growing.
On 30 January 2023, the 2nd Belarusian-Zimbabwean Business Forum was held in Harare, which was attended by more than 30 companies from Belarus and more than 200 Zimbabwean participants.
11 Belarusian companies were represented at a country exposition “Made in Belarus” during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), which took place on 25-29 April 2023 in Bulawayo.
